Terms of Use

1. Prices and Payment
All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rate and are correct at the time of entering the relevant information. We reserve the right to change prices without prior notice but this will not affect any accepted orders. Payment must be made by credit card and will be charged in Pounds Sterling in advance. If we do not receive payment authorization or authorization is subsequently cancelled we may immediately terminate or suspend access to The Argus Electronic Edition.

2. Placing Order and Contract Formation
For the avoidance of doubt, this offer constitutes an invitation to treat. If you wish to purchase a subscription to The Argus Electronic Edition you should order by selecting the subscription period of your choice and completing the billing details as prompted. There will be no binding contract between us until we send you an email confirming your order.

3. Right to Cancel
You have an unconditional right to cancel your order within seven working days from the day of delivery. You may contact us by e-mail to subscriptions@theargus.co.uk or at the address shown below or by telephone on 0500 101 606. Please include your order number in any correspondence.

4. Access
You will be provided by email with a password to access The Argus Electronic Edition. The date of this email will be the first day of your subscription. It will be delivered to the email address shown in your order. This email address and password are personal to you and may not be used by anyone else to access The Argus Electronic Edition. You will not do anything which would assist anyone who is not a subscriber to access The Argus Electronic Edition. If you believe that someone may be using your email address and password fraudulently you should notify us by emailing webmaster@theargus.co.uk

5. Availability of The Argus Electronic Edition
We shall not be responsible for any problem you may experience accessing The Argus Electronic Edition due to the act or fault of any telecoms provider, internet service provider and/or technology supplier; any incompatibility or technical fault in respect of your computer hardware, software and/or systems; your registration details are inaccurate or out-of-date; or any other circumstance where we grant you access but you are unable to receive it through no fault of our own.

We reserve the right to permanently withdraw The Argus Electronic Edition, in which event you will be entitled to a refund of any fees paid by you to the extend that the fees relate to access to The Argus Electronic Edition following the withdrawal date.

6. Cancellations and Refunds
Further to clause 3, you may cancel your subscription by contacting the Subscription Department as above. Refund will be made for any complete calendar month remaining in the subscription period.

7. Disclaimer of liability
We will use reasonable skill and care in making The Argus Electronic Edition available to you. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, The Argus Electronic Edition is provided by us without any warranties or guarantees. In particular, we do not warrant that http://e-edition.theargus.co.uk or any of its contents is virus free. You must take your own precautions in this respect as we accept no responsibility for any infection by virus or other contamination or by anything which has destructive properties. Although we will do our best to provide constant, uninterrupted access on http://e-edition.theargus.co.uk, we do not guarantee this. We accept no responsibility or liability for any interruption or delay.

8. Data Protection
All information received by us from your subscription order will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will only transfer and record this information as required by your order and delivery of The Argus Electronic Edition for the duration of your subscription. Newsquest Media Group Ltd is registered with the Data Protection Commission in the UK and adheres to the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998. We would also like to be able to inform you by email about services or offers from Newsquest (Sussex) Ltd, publishers of The Argus and The Argus Electronic Edition, that you might find interesting. If you wish to receive this information please check the box. You can contact us at any time to review your personal details, make amendments or withdraw the details from our records: just write to subscriptions@theargus.co.uk or use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any correspondence.

9. Internet cookies

Copyright law prohibits copying; re-distributing; re-transmitting or re-purposing of any of the pages or extracts of them other than the cache necessary to view them. You are authorized to download and print the pages for your own personal and non-commercial use only.

11. Law and Jurisdiction
All dealings between you and The Argus Subscriptions Department will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all matters arising pursuant thereto.
